Project Description

June 7, 2010 – Recovery Audit Technology Leader Lavante Continues Thought Leadership Presentations at IQPC Conference

Lavante, the leading provider of technology-enabled profit recovery and supplier information management (SIM) solutions to Fortune 1000 companies, today announced it will be presenting at the IQPC 2010 Shared Services Exchange June 6 – 8 at Barton Creek Resort & Spa, Austin, Texas.  It also announced that it will be hosting a webinar June 11th on the impact of recent tax legislation.  This webinar is the first in a multiple-part series in which Lavante will be partnering with industry experts to educate financial professionals on how new tax laws will dramatically affect handling of 1099 Forms in the future.

These educational sessions come on the heels of three sessions Lavante presented on best practices for vendor file management, an overview of supplier portals, and how to use social media to enhance job performance, which were given at IAPP Fusion 2010, a major finance professionals industry event held in May.

Lavante is helping to educate and empower payables and procurement professionals on best practices so that they can have an increasingly strategic role within the larger business organization.  This is part of a concerted effort at Lavante, as evidenced by its speaking engagements at major events and industry association gatherings, webinars, and published materials and blogs.

News Highlights

  • IQPC Conference Session, June 6, 5:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. – Lavante will present “Using Technology to Better Manage Vendors and Ultimately Save on Cost.” In this session, Lavante will take a closer look at vendor management, and how technology can play a key role in reducing costs by increasing visibility, fostering more direct communications, and enhancing controls over pricing.
  • Lavante Webinar, June 11, 11 a.m. – Lavante is hosting a webinar entitled “Navigating the New 1099 Tax Laws” where tax professionals will discuss how the new 1099 tax legislation will affect Supplier Information Management needs, 1099 reporting responsibilities, and non-compliance penalties. New rules in The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. healthcare reform) require reporting of all payments over $600 made to corporations for all goods and services rendered, so this is a very timely topic for AP professionals. Information on this very popular event is available at the webinars section of Lavante’s web site.
  • IAPP Fusion 2010 – At this industry event held May 9 – 13, Lavante presented at “standing room only” sessions relevant industry topics including:  “Leveraging Your Vendor File to Maximize Profits,” “An Overview of Vendor Portals,” and “Using Social Media to Promote Your Company, Advance Your Career and Get More Done in General.”
  • The Hub: An Industry Blog – Lavante is hosting an industry-focused forum on its The Hub blog, where industry thought leaders and Lavante personnel comment on topics relevant to accounts payables professionals.

“Lavante has always been focused on finding better ways to do things. Our unique use of technology to enable comprehensive supplier-side profit recoveries is one example.  In a similar way, we believe that sharing best practices is a way we can help accounts payables professionals be more effective and strategic.”
Joe Flynn, Founder and CEO, Lavante
