Bob Puette
President, Puette Capital Management

Bob is the President of Puette Capital Management and sits on the board of numerous companies. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of both Bentek Corporation and Fat Spaniel Technology. Bob has spent much of his career managing and growing technology companies throughout the Bay Area. He has developed tremendous expertise in launching new products, establishing distribution channels, developing R&D organizations, and marketing new technologies. Bob was the President of Apple USA, the President and CEO of Centigram Communications and RLP Consulting and the Chairman and CEO of NetFrame Systems. He also managed Hewlett-Packard's introduction of the PC as the Group General Manager and was a Cisco Systems board member for nine years. Bob holds a Masters in Operations Research from Stanford University and an Engineering degree from Northwestern University. 

 

Joe Flynn
Founder and CEO, Lavante

CEO Joe Flynn founded Lavante (then AuditSolutions) in 2001 with the vision of using on-demand technology to streamline and enable new best practices in traditionally manual-based AP audit recovery.  His 5 years in management with the then-leader in audit recovery spurred him to develop an automated, ongoing solution to the manual and static audit processes that failed to recover significant lost profits in vendor credits.  His company has since been recognized as an on-demand leader and innovator aiding corporate efficiency and profitability in the area of profit recovery and vendor file management.

Prior to founding Lavante, Joe served as the Director of Operations for the statement audit group of Howard Shultz and Associates (HSA), which was then the nation's leading recovery auditing firm.  At HSA, Joe held cross-functional positions in marketing, product strategy, sales management as well as serving as Director of Operations.   Joe is a recognized expert in the field of statement audit recovery. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Silicon Valley Workers Investment Network and as an Ambassador to the San Jose Chamber of Commerce. He holds a BS degree in Economics from the University of Santa Clara.

 

Keith Krach
CEO, 3Points, LLC.

After earning his degree in industrial engineering from Purdue as a General Motors Scholar and an MBA from Harvard University as a GM Fellow, Keith worked at GM where he became the youngest-ever vice president at the age of 26.  After 10 years with GM, Krach headed out to Silicon Valley to join the founding team of Rasna Corporation. Krach helped lead Rasna to be recognized as #3 on the Inc. 100 list of Fastest-Growing Companies and was sold in 1995 to Parametric Technologies for $500 million.  Krach co-founded Ariba in 1996, serving as CEO and Chairman of the Board for 7 years. During his tenure as CEO, Krach took Ariba public, ultimately achieving a market capitalization of $34 billion.

In honor of his accomplishments in e-business, Ernst & Young named Krach the 2000 National Entrepreneur of the Year, the same year in which he was honored at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with the Technology Pioneer Award.  He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Purdue University, Chairman of the Board at DocuSign Corp and is also CEO of 3Points, Inc., an investment holding company.

 

Pete Thomas
Managing Director, ATA Ventures

Pete is a co-founder and Managing Director of ATA Ventures. Pete comes to ATA Ventures having enjoyed a highly successful career in venture capital activities across the past 20 years. In 1985, he joined Institutional Venture Partners (IVP) as a General Partner. Prior to venture capital activities, Pete was at Intel Corporation where he held engineering, marketing and strategic planning positions.  Pete has successfully led investments at IVP and TVI, as well as an outstanding list of recognized industry leaders, such as Atmel (ATML), Altera (ALTR), @Road (ARDI), Transmeta (TMTA), Cirrus Logic (CRUS), Form Factor (FORM), and many others. He is on the board of a number of private companies within the ATA.

Pete graduated magna cum laude in 1968 with a BSEE degree from Utah State University. Pete has been a recipient of the Utah State University College of Engineering Distinguished Alumnus Award and is currently on the Board of Trustees of the Utah State University Foundation. He received his MS in Computer Science from the University of Santa Clara in 1975.

 

Steve Goldberg, Ph.D.
Vice President, Venrock

Steve joined Venrock in 2009 after having been CEO of several early stage companies including DataRunway, Vidient, Arcwave and CoWave Networks. Prior to that, he was Vice President of Research and Development at Nokia Internet Communications and Vice President and General Manager of the Wireless Communications Division at Cylink Corporation. Steve also held senior management and engineering positions at Trimble Navigation and Hewlett Packard. At Venrock, Steve focuses on investments in the wireless, mobile and energy sectors. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of ApaceWave Technologies, Asoka, Neoconix, Newport Media and Quantenna Communications. Previous board seats include Canesta (Acq by Microsoft) and Teranetics (Acq by PLX Technology).  Steve received his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Washington University and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

 

Tony Sun
Sun Associates

Tony has been active in the venture community and high tech companies for many years, now with his own advisory firm. Previous to Sun Associates, Tony was a partner at Venrock for thirty years where he invested and advised 55 companies. During his tenure, he witnessed the evolution of information technology - from the early days of semiconductor manufacturing, to the internet boom and the recent innovations in telecommunications. Before joining Venrock, he gained operational experience with Caere Corporation, Hewlett-Packard, and TRW, Inc. Besides his business interests, he is active in educational and international communities. He serves as a Trustee of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), serving on the visiting committees for the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and the Department of Material Science. He is also a member of the International Resource Panel for the Government of Singapore and on the venture advisory board of the US Navy. Besides, Lavante, Tony currently serves on the board of Cognex Corporation.

 

Andreas Weiskam
Managing Director, SAP Ventures

Andreas Weiskam brings significant internal SAP and start-up experience to his role and plays an important part in leveraging the synergies between SAP and portfolio companies. Prior to joining SAP Ventures, Weiskam held several business development positions at SAP. Most recently, he co-developed the concept and framework for the Enterprise Services Community which enables customers and partners to define enterprise services with SAP. Prior to the Enterprise Services Community, he worked in new business development and led reseller deals with Virsa Systems and Mercury Interactive, among others. Weiskam has worked in several start-up companies and co-founded a venture-backed start-up firm in the area of instant messaging technology. Weiskam has lived in Sweden, Germany, Scotland, and the United States, and holds a graduate business degree of Diplom-Kaufmann from the University of Hamburg, Germany and an M.Litt. with distinction in Management, Economics and Politics from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
